A tool was developed at KLM Cargo to improve the buildup cargo handling phase. Two different optimization algorithms were written to consolidate flight schedules, warehouse progress and personnel characteristics into an optimized work allocation schedule, minimizing delays and balancing workloads. The model allows a more consistent method of scheduling, early identification of bottleneck operations and saves hours of daily manual work.

I acquired hands-on technical experience when I worked on the production of the race car in the accumulator production department. Together with 9 other engineers we build two 600 volt, 6.7 kWh accumulators. This included joining battery cells using laser welding, glass fiber and carbon fiber post-processing, wiring electronic circuits, assembly and testing of the accumulator.
