The Board of Visitors serves NC State University by providing advice to the chancellor, and through the chancellor, to the Board of Trustees. The Board of Visitors is composed of 30 members appointed by the chancellor. The Board of Visitors has the following functions: assists the chancellor and the Board of Trustees in ensuring that NC State University’s relative standing among the premier universities in America is maintained and enhanced, serves as advocates for NC State University in achieving its educational purposes and accomplishments, and brings visibility and contacts to the campus from distant areas.
