Wave is a high growth fintech (financial technology) company acquired by H&R Block in June 2019 for $537 million. In his role at Wave, he led Strategy, Corporate Development and Business Development, including the negotiation and management of strategic partnerships, fundraising rounds and acquisitions. Peter was deeply involved in the sale of the company to H&R Block including all aspects of the negotiations, due diligence, legals and integration strategy. Peter's involvement at Wave began in 2011 when he led the company's first venture round while at OMERS Ventures.

NEXT Canada is helping grow Canada's long-term prosperity by fast-tracking the development of Canada's most talented young innovators and founders. It was founded by a small group of business leaders and academics and is championed by Founding Patrons W. Galen Weston, Paul Desmarais, Sr. and Jimmy Pattison. Reporting to the board of directors, Peter led all aspects of the organization including program design and delivery, marketing and recruiting, fundraising and finance. He was also deeply involved in working with the founders and ventures within the Next 36, Next Founders and NextAI programs. Peter was instrumental in redesigning the core Next 36 program to better align with the rapidly evolving technology ecosystem. He also led the design and launch of NextAI, a program designed to accelerate the development and growth of high potential Artificial Intelligence (AI) based companies based in Canada. Peter also secured the corporate and government sponsors and partners that were critical to the success of the NextAI program.

OMERS Ventures is the venture capital arm of OMERS, a $100 billion Ontario Canada-based pension fund. Peter was the founding Managing Director of OMERS Ventures, and led the development of the initial investment sectors, thesis, strategy and processes. He also led and was instrumental in the recruiting of the initial investment team. His leadership at OMERS Ventures included sourcing, approving and managing its first investments, including leading Wave Financial's first venture round, a company sold to H&R Block in 2019 for ~ $540 million.
