Led technology for Paul Allen. Responsibilities included the Vulcan incubation program, internal technology, and interfacing with the Allen institutions: the Allen Institute for Artificial Intelligence, the Allen Brain Institute, Stratolaunch, and more. Programs included: a blockchain company, autonomous fixed-wing drones, augmented reality, clean energy, satellite image machine learning, disease outbreak prediction, and sports technology. Oversight and investment review of space launch and nuclear energy programs.

Directed research programs supporting commercialization of intellectual property investments. Grew development programs from 6 to 40 million dollars. Programs spanned physics-based hardware to health tech and advanced computing. Managed relationships between investors, corporations, non-profit organizations and other stakeholder groups.

Motenet created a mobile social networking and crowd-sourcing application suite. Responsible for product, team and acquisition of venture capital. U.S. patent No. 7,822,808 granted October 26, 2010.

One of the five original Blue Origin employees. Helped to create and lead one of the first private space launch companies. Delivered R&D, vehicle and propulsion design, facilities development and launch operations.

Disappearing Inc. provided cryptographic information protection services. Responsible for product, technology and fundraising. Inventor on US patent nos. 6,625,734, 7,096,355 and 7,246,378 for the application of cryptographic protocols. Raised venture capital funding from KPCB, Fujitsu and others. Awarded the 2001 SIIA Codie award for software product innovation. Acquired by Liquid Computing.

Sr. Computer Scientist

1989 - 1997

Using communication antennas in the Deep Space Network, detected, tracked and imaged Earth-approaching asteroids, planets and rocky satellites. NASA achievement award. Numerous discoveries.

On leave from JPL, Lead Engineer for Worlds Inc.'s flagship product: a custom networked 3D virtual world built for Stephen Spielberg and his Starbright Project.
