    2019 - 2020

  • Senior VP Engineering

    2008 - 2019

Having joined Workday via the acquisition of Cape Clear in 2008, I worked in a variety of senior roles, and ran the engineering group for 7 years from 2012-2019. This encompassed the development, operations, infrastructure, integrations, analytics and security organizations. During this time, the team grew from about 150 people to about 1500. Our transaction workload scaled from <1MM/month to >20Bn/month, and our ARR scaled from about US$5M to US$5B. As a member of the SMT, I was intimately involved in all aspects of the company's technical and business operations as we scaled from our first customers to being a large public company.

Worked as a PM in IONA during its hyper-growth phase, up to and including what was then the 2nd biggest software IPO (after Netscape) in 1998. Managed its flagship 'Orbix' CORBA middleware product and introduced a number of new products to market.
